Jasmine Saenz (b.2000) is an Atlanta-based fine artist. She expects to graduate with her Painting BFA, with a Graphic Design minor, at the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) in 2022. Her studies have positioned her to pursue a career in fine arts and communication arts. Her most recent work consists of life-size portrait painting cutouts that embody true self-comfort in one's skin. These works have been highly successful and were even showcased at SCAD's Open Studio, a curated collection of the best works on campus in Atlanta.

Her mediums of choice are oil paints and wood. These materials take a lot of patience to work with. Because of this, they no longer turn into mere projects but therapy for Jasmine, giving her an outlet to process the emotions that derive from her childhood and ever-changing life. This therapeutic environment that the medium creates gives her time to pour her emotions and feelings into every aspect of her work, allowing her to develop her concepts further. As she pushes forward with these concepts, we see her process expanding as her emotions guide her work. She now explores the sanding and shaping of her wooden surfaces, the intentional application of paint, and how the produced colors affect the viewers' experience.

At just eight years old, Jasmine lost her mother to a misdiagnosis of cancer. With the only parent she had in her life gone, her 18-year-old sister took over, causing a significant shift in the artist's life. From that point on, life was all about just making it through and enjoying every day as if it was the last. Jasmine currently resides in Smyrna, Georgia, with her sister and enjoys workouts, tons of coffee, and napping with her two dogs, Nala and Kiekwi. As she graduates, she is looking to expand her network of galleries and looks forward to what the future holds.
